Gordon
I found Glenn's practice while in the Akron area visiting a friend. I had been experiencing quite severe pain in both my neck and lower back that had been treated by many conventional and holistic methods without success. After Glenn's first treatment, my major neck pain was entirely gone and my low back was much improved. During subsequent treatments, Glenn was able to go much deeper with his work processes and the results have been a greater, painless freedom of movement than I've had in decades!! I continue to fly into Ohio from the midwest to receive treatment whenever my schedule allows, as I've been unable to duplicate Glenn's results from the myriad of sessions tried in my home state. You have a real gem here in Glenn. His abilities to effect a powerful healing change through his treatments is unsurpassed! I whole-heartedly recommend his services.

In the spring of 2000 my health began to deteriorate significantly. Fatigue became my constant companion, even after 8 to 10 hours of restless sleep. Besides having poor concentration, I ached all over, especially my neck, back and hip areas. Insomnia set in along with poor digestion and skin rashes. By July 1st my hearing and vision worsened and I was forced to take a medical leave from work. Antibiotics had no effect on my ear infection, and it is my belief that they only made matters worse, by weakening my immune system. Although I was only 48 years old, at times I felt twice my age.

My osteopath diagnosed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, chronic candidais, unexplained memory loss and chronic urticaria. Subsequently, my neurologist noted Fibromyalgia and vertigo. Even though I was taking thyroid medication for several months my adrenal and thyroid glands were under-functioning. This was evident by a low basal axillary temperature of 96.8 degrees.

My medications included Celebrex for inflammation, wellbutrin SR for depression and ambien for sleep disturbances.

I was still unable to work or function normally in life. I continued to have a poor memory and lack of concentration. Climbing stairs was very painful and made me extremely dizzy and fatigued. I also experienced shortness of breath with the slightest physical exertion. Walking was difficult and made my hips stiff and sore. I could not perform any physical task without having pain and stiffness.

In the spring of 2001 my sister recommended seeing Glenn Rexroad. Glenn started me on his program, which included a variety of alternative therapies and neuromuscular therapy. He designed a program to fit my individual needs. He taught me things that I could do at home, in order to improve my health. I started noticing differences in my body after the first visit. My energy levels and flexibility started improving the next day. My thyroid functions increased as was evident by my basal axillary temperature increasing to 98 degrees.

I regained my strength, memory, hearing, and vision. My strength has improved so significantly that I can climb stairs without any pain and I'm not fatigued or out of breath when I reach the top. I can bend and do gardening without having to sit down every five minutes. When walking my stride has increased and my balance is normal. My vision has returned to prior levels and my hearing in both ears is fine again. My digestion improved and feels fine. For the first time in one year I am able to ride my bike again, and have made it part of my health routine. My memory and concentration have returned to normal. I occasionally take Celebrex for minor stiffness. I sleep fine, so I no longer need to take ambien. I no longer have depression so I discontinued taking the wellbutrin SR.

Two months ago I returned to work part time. I have gradually increased my hours at work to full time. This was a great accomplishment for me. Now one and a half years after the onset of my condition, I feel fantastic. The past 6 months of Glenn's program has made a huge difference in not only my health but also in the quality of my life.

If it wasn't for meeting Glenn and his neuromuscular therapy program I'd still be searching for answers. Thanks to Glenn's expertise I have returned to a normal life.

I wish you well.

Janice

Hi, my name is Janice Kalain. In May 1999, I started having trouble with my hands. At night, I had numbness and tingling in both of my hands which would wake me up. During the day my hands and arms would hurt. The pain went all the way up into my shoulders. It was hard to work since my job requires me to type and count medication all day long. I also had pain when using my computer & playing bingo. I had all of the symptoms of carpal tunnel. In August of 2000 my neurologist, Dr. Shapiro ordered a nerve conduction test performed on both my right and left arms and hands. The test came back positive, I did have carpal tunnel. I tried wearing the wrist braces that are recommended for carpal tunnel, but the braces didn't help. I was prescribed ultrum for the pain during the day and vicoden for the pain at night. I was also prescribed flexeril for muscle pain.

Then my family doctor recommended Dr. Tantri, a plastic reconstructive surgeon. He looked at the results of the nerve conduction tests and checked the movement of my right and left wrists. Dr. Tantri recommended that I have carpal tunnel surgery right away on my right hand. My daughter-in-law thought that before I opted to have surgery, I should try neuromuscular therapy with Glenn Rexroad. But, I thought that I should follow my doctor\0x2019s recommendations. So, on Feb.15, 2001 I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand. Seven days after the surgery I returned to Dr. Tantri's office and he removed the stitches and said that everything was fine. I returned to work part time for two weeks then returned to full time. However, the surgery had only relieved the tingling and numbness in my right hand. I still had pain in my upper right arm and shoulder. I was very upset, for I was led to believe that the surgery would relieve all of the pain in my entire arm. But, the surgery had only helped my right hand. The pain in the upper part of my arm did not improve.

So, in March 2001, I decided not to have the surgery on my left wrist. Instead , I decided to make an appointment with Glenn Rexroad. During part of my first visit, Glenn asked me to watch an educational video about carpal tunnel, which explained how the muscles of the neck, shoulder and upper arm relate to the wrist and hand. The video further explained how muscle contractions (hypertonus) and tightness in the neck can entrap the nerves that supply the entire arm. This nerve entrapment by the muscles in the neck leads to pain all the way down the arm into the hand. So the problem was in my neck and shoulders. That's why I was still having pain in my shoulders and upper arms.

Also on the first session, Glenn showed me how neuromuscular therapy is used to restore proper muscle tone. With the proper muscle tone restored the pain goes away. Glenn worked on the back of my neck, my shoulders, upper arms and my hands. After the first session the tightness and soreness in the muscles of my neck , shoulders and arms were eased. My hands and arms felt so much better, because, for the first time I was getting relief in all of the areas that hurt on my body.

After receiving Glenn's neuromuscular treatments , I no longer have any tingling, numbness or pain in my left shoulder, arm and most importantly my left hand. Since I have had so much success with Glenn's treatments I have decided not to have the surgery on my left hand. I feel that Glenn has helped me avoid having a second carpal tunnel surgery. If I knew before, what I know now, I would not of had the surgery on my right hand.

Glenn has helped me return to a normal lifestyle. I can do the things I enjoy without having pain. Now I can work all day, play bingo and play on my computer, all without pain! I recently took a trip to Las Vegas and played on the slot machines and had no pain or trouble with my arms!

I am still receiving treatments every other week for my right shoulder, which is so much better and continues to improve. I enjoy going for my sessions. I always feel so much better. I occasionally take advil but I no longer need to take the prescription medication. I am a true believer in Glenn's program and will let everyone know about it.

Thank You,

Janice

I came to see Glenn in the fall of 1994, I was not disappointed.

For the past 18 years I have been a long distance runner, competing in local races in the Ohio area. I started having problems with my leg after a long Sunday run. Since I wear orthodics, I thought an adjustment by my foot doctor was the cure. That didn't work. Now I was hobbling down the stairs in the morning, and in pain most of the day. My running had ceased to exist. My leg felt dead. I needed help!

A running friend exercised the idea of my seeing a massage therapist. He had a bad back and was told he needed surgery. Instead, he went through therapeutic massage and is now active and running as great as ever.

Glenn Rexroad to the rescue! Through Glenn Neuromuscular approach and regulated exercise my leg became pain free. Then I was able to start running again. I am now doing something that I hope to enjoy for many years to come...running!

I owe a great deal to Glenn. He is extremely knowledgeable in his craft. I highly recommend Neuromuscular Therapy by Glenn Rexroad. I am now much more aware of what I need to do physically and mentally to be a healthy human being on this earth.

Thanks again to Glenn.

My Personal Experience with Trauma

My pursuit of alternative health care modalities has been a direct result of the fact that I'm a multiple severe trauma survivor. I say survivor not victim because I believe that if we think of ourselves as a victim of a trauma we remain stuck in an unhealthy state. I prefer survivor as it implies that I have come out on the other side of these events as a healed whole person. I would like to share these personal experiences with you so that we might be able to relate to one another on our quest toward well being.

My first trauma at the age of 8 involved getting my hand caught in a machine. After reconstructive surgery and a year of rehab I had regained 80% of the use of my right hand. It wasn't until 20 years later that massage techniques were able to restore the final 20% of mobility to my hand. I was amazed that even after 20 years the treatment techniques were very effective in restoring the missing range of motion to my hand. And I wondered why these techniques were not employed in the initial therapy.

Other traumas include being hit by a car while on a motorcycle which involved internal injuries that required surgical correction. I was in an automobile accident where the vehicle rolled and hit several trees and then landed on its side. This was my first skull fracture.

My second skull fracture happened ten years ago, while repairing my garage roof and stepping from the ladder to the roof the ladder kicked out from under me dropping me twelve feet the asphalt driveway. This particular trauma required that the orbit of my left eye be reconstructed with metal plates. The left cheek bone was repositioned and reinforced with a plate. And my jaw which was broken in two places was plated back in place. I feel very lucky when I think of what could have happened in any one of these accidents. I am truly very grateful and fortunate to have survived any one of these events let alone the fact that I have come out of them with virtually no permanent paralysis or disabilities. I would say that even though the medical field did a fine job of reconstructing my body the soft tissue injuries that are not seen on x-ray have taken a lifetime of pursuit to resolve.

This personal quest for health has led me to develop several of my own techniques that I have been able to utilize to help my clients. Over the last 20 years of my career I have witnessed that people do not have to have severe traumas in order to have some of the same soft tissue dysfunctions that I have had. With the knowledge that I have gained I have devoted my practice to the treatment of soft tissue pain and dysfunction.

Health, like life, is a journey.
